Peter Jamali’s – Isend Update

I, Pastor Peter Jamali, for the reason of Christ, accept to be sent and work in the Vineyard of the Lord
Year 2011 has been so amazing with lots of activities happened.

I would like to start by thanking the Almighty God for the excellent work of His I send Africa Ministry. There is still a lot of work to be done in the forthcoming year but with good sowing in the year just ending, lots of lives have been saved for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. I really thank my Lord Jesus Christ for giving me power to minister His Word to mankind. Let His Name be exalted forever and ever more.

I would like as well to thank I send Africa for making the Ministry in Malawi and Mozambique so resourceful and meaningful.

In recognition of the various meetings that I send Africa has had in the year just ending, herein the Newsletter shows some of the pictures and supporting texts to illustrate the activities.

Here are some of the activities

Gospel Outreach Ministry Malawi
On the right is Peter Jamali briefing pastors on the importance of having Bible Reading Culture soon after distributing Bibles to some local church leaders at Kaluwa Church on May 9, 2011.

Barely after four weeks, all pastors from Nyakamba zone were called to a two day Leaders’ meeting held at Good News Children’s Home. Pastors were encouraged very much by the Word from Acts 2: 41 and finally pastors agreed to form Apostolic Partnership Network which will work to bring all pastors together in order to build kingdom culture in His Vineyard. The pictures 1 & 2 below show some pastors during discussions and lunch respectively.

On the closing day, hearts of worshippers dedicated the work of the Lord in Thy Hands for His glory and honour.
The meeting was conducted on 16th August, 2011
The pastors meetings were also geared up in Mozambique. Again many pastors from different denominations turned up for the meeting at Tengowambalame in Dowa District.

Some pastors expressed the need for such meetings to be done at least four times in a year in order to enrich their understanding of the Bible.

After the meeting, pastors prayed vehemently to Almighty God for the growth and wider extension of the ministry’s territory so much so that remote and impassable areas right in the country should as well experience the love of God.

I left with leaders, who attended the meeting, the teachings which had a theme “you are handpicked” Deuteronomy 7: 6-9.

The picture shows pastors in a group photo.

Early September 2011, after my trip from Mozambique, I conducted series of meetings with local leaders in Nsanje District and across Chikhwawa  District. The aim of the meetings was to address the local leaders and influential people in the communities on the dangers of HIV and AIDs. It’s been statistically evident that some of cultural practices in such districts have a resistance of dying and are spreading the disease which puts a lot of youths at risk of orphanhood and perpetual poverty. The picture shows leaders at the open day meeting.

Awareness Meetings Malawi

Nsanje Community Centre Ground.

Later in the meeting I also shared them a scripture from Colossians 3: 2

Also in attendance were primary school pupils and secondary school students who are geared up for behavioral change.

Similar meeting was also conducted at Nsangwe Community Centre Ground. Youths and women were given chance to express their views on domestic violence and property grabbing after diseased husband. Later in the meeting Pastor Biliat Zyunta shared them Word from Ephesus 2:10 and John 15: 16.

School children in the lecture
School children were not spared in the awareness meetings. I organized a school open day meeting at Magoti primary School where I briefed them on the importance of knowing and practicing life skills. The challenge was that lots of school youths are at potentially high risk of getting HIV and early pregnancies. The children were keen to participate in the lecture which later in the meeting got some guys go away with gifts for answering the designed questions right.

Orphan and Vulnerable Children’s Ministry Mozambique

Here are some orphan & vulnerable children whom I got at Veranova in Mozambique. The children shared different shocking stories of their family backgrounds. All the children depicted in the picture have no access to education, good food and shelter. The Community in which they live offer at times some basic needs but do not adequately suffice them. I encouraged them( after providing them with Msima with fish and refreshment) with the scripture from John 3: 16.

Msima flour & Fish to take home

In Him with trust!!

“Learn to serve” was the theme of the meeting.

In power and unity, ladies went in dancing while praising the Lord for His love that knows no limit and for His choice and call that are presidestined for His glory and honor..

Ladies from Nyakamba zone organized a three day annual meeting which held at Nyamitambo church.

The meeting was organized to challenge all women to take active role in the leadership of the church.

This was responding to calls from some church leaders who do not involve ladies in decision-making as well as church activities quoting from 1 Corinthians chapter 14: 32 -36. However on the closing day I encouraged them with the scripture from Corinthians 14 verse 26 through to 39 and Mathews 20: 28.

Ladies Meeting Malawi

Home cell Malawi

Pastor Jamali in the front dancing together with ladies after closing their meeting on 13 th October, 2011

Let the Name of the Lord be glorified in every that we do.

It’s been so thrilling to experience such a marvelous time of ministry outreach.

I pray for God’s intervention for the work done in the just ending year, I as well pray for His mercy and grace in the forth coming year.

May He bless 2012 just as He has done for 2011. May He shower His love for all activities lined for 2012 for His love endures forever.

May He bless I send Africa to be a ministry worldwide and that touches and turns many lives of people to salvation.

May you remain with the Word from Galatians Chapter 6 verse 9.

May God bless the reader.

May He heal all dieses and pains to the afflicted.

May God bless Malawi and Mozambique.

Amen!!

Home- cells are very instrumental in the development of a good Bible culture in the disciples of Christ. It also edifies in the life of Christianity. As you know Christianity is a journey which starts and moves until such a time when one gets to the Lord. In understanding how important is home-cells, I organized a number of them in different churches. At times I would call for a combined home-cell as shown in the photo. Ladies were so participative in wanting to understand the Bible.

During the session I also distributed Bibles to those who could read. The need to have such meetings in other areas is so great. I always pray that God should always open for me ways to take this even higher so that people know the Bible and Jesus.

Wonderford Saliva – Isend Update

Introduction : I, Wonderford Saliva would like to first express my profound appreciation for the Pastoral Support that is sent by Calvary. I would also like thank God for the provision of this stipend, which has been helpful in many ways –in my personal ministry and family upkeep. I would also like to thank God for the provision of Bibles last time.

Ministry: In the last quarter, I have been able to plant six(6) Churches in Ngabu and Chapananga Area.  Tombondera, Kakoma and Dausi(Chapananga); Saopa, Bulaki and Kulima(Ngabu). The people in the areas I ministered were receptive to the Gospel. Many people who were backsliding re-committed their lives to Christ and also others received Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Apart from these new church plants, I have been able to strengthen other churches in the area at Nkathe and Mitondo(East Bank); Binya and John(Ngabu). In my next visit, I will be going to Chinangwa(Chikwawa) to revive one of our pioneer churches. People have invited me to go there and encourage them

Physical and Spiritual Needs: In these areas, I encountered  a lot of people who are sick, orphans, the aged who have no one to look after them and also many people most likely have at least  “one meal” a day due shortage of food. In my message from Jeremiah 29:11, I encouraged the people to “lift up their eyes” to God who has good plans for each one of them inspite of the challenges they were facing. I also pointed them to Christ, who is our sustainer. Another great need is the word of God – Bibles are still needed so that the people can study the word of God.

Challenges: One most critical challenge is mobility as I have to travel long distances from the main road. I pray for God’s provision so that I can be able to reach the most remote parts in many areas where I minister. Also there is looming hunger due to the delayed and erratic rainfall which will affect many people in the area. Pray also for the plight of orphans who need parental guidance and support for their basic needs.

Prayer Request: Pray that will be able to reach out to as people with the Gospel and that they may receive and dedicate their lives to Christ. Pray for Malawi as a nation as we are passing through harsh hardships due to financial, political, social spiral problems which are affecting the well-being of many people, particularly for those of us in the rural areas. Pray also for our political leaders so that they will be accountable.

Duncan Denti – Isend Update

Dear Supporters,

I would like to thank God through you for the support that you give me. This has brought positive fruits as we minister in different areas, including Mozambique. In the month of September (17-20) I was in Lulwe, down in Nsanje close to the Mozambique Border in Chief Chinzeti’s area. I preached from Exodus 8:20-25. At the end of preaching, an altar call was made where nine (9) people came forward to be prayed from the release ancestoral spirits and bondage.  Also many people who are not  strong  in their faith came forward to give testimonies. I prayed for a strong grounding in the word. Pray for us as we have much more work to do.

Also in the same month (23-25) I visited Million areas in Malawi; Ndakana and Dzinila and in Mozambique.  In these villages, I   preached from Matt 27:45-55 and Ruth 1:1-19. My main thrust was to encourage the people to have their faith in Jesus and also whole heartedly commit their lives to Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior and also to emulate Ruth example who clang to Naomi, just as they too can cling to Jesus. In all these areas, people came forward with different prayer requests and I prayed for them. At Ndakana, there were twelve pastors from the area with their members and we spent the night together.

I would like also to specifically mention about the Bibles that you provide for our ministry as I have been able to give those who do not have Bibles and they have gladly received them with thanksgiving. Please continue supporting us both with Bibles and the Pastoral Ministry Support has been timely. This too cannot be over emphasized; it has helped in my Ministry and upkeep.

Prayer Points: Please continue to pray for us a family. Pray that the rains will be adequate. Pray for good health. Remember all the I Send Africa Team (Malawi) in your daily prayers as we encounter different challenges in our ministry and daily lives.

Your bondservant,

Duncan Genti

Special Holiday Teaching Series

We will have an exciting new series in December entitled “Occupy Christmas”. Please come, bring a friend and check it out.

The series is as follows:

Sunday, Dec. 4: “The Burden of Greed” It has almost become a virtue in America today, so much so that is has overtaken Christmas as well. How do we stop it?

Sunday, Dec. 11: “Justice/NOW” Christ came to earth to establish justice. What is His idea of justice? Is it the same as ours?

Sunday, Dec. 18: “The 1%” In our society, the top 1% are the people who are viewed as having all of the power, at the expense of the remaining 99%, who are struggling just to survive. Who really has the power and at whose expense?

Sunday, Dec. 25: “The HOPE” There is hope. We only need to accept the gift that God has offered to us.

We will also have a special Christmas Eve service on Saturday, December 24 at 6:30 PM.

For additional details please check out:  http://www.calvarysouthbury.com/christmas.php

Gulumba’s area at a place called PHOKERA. By then we were with Zuze

gathered with nine congregations with different denominations. During that
meeting we had a good gathering of people.

We had another meeting in the same country (Mocambique) at a place called
Boni (Postal Shire) across Shire river.

The meeting started on 23-25 September 2011, during that meeting the
commander in chief of the Army Soldiers received Jesus as his personal
saviour. On top of that we also recieved members who also accepted Jesus as
their Lord and saviour. Amongst those who recieved Jesus, 4 were women and 3
were men and 2 were teenagers.

During our all meetings we were teaching about how we can work together as a
team in God’s ministry as it is written in the book of acts 6.
With the teaching we had the commander written above has phoned us that we
should also arrange a trip for another meeting in the other side of his
area.

Lastly, we would like to thank God for the camera and the bibles given to us
through you and your team.

ISEND Pastor Robert Kathewera Update

Dear Supporters,

I had a very good meeting at Chanmanga Area from 10 – 12 September 2011.

On 10th September, I was at Kutama Village where 160 people gathered under the tree. 15 people repented and we prayed for the sick people, God healed them all.

On 11th September I was at Njovuyalema Village, 6 villages came at one place, the attendance was 350 people, after sharing the words of God, 35 people came to be saved.

On 12th September I was at Mphungu Village. About 7 villages came to the meeting, 400 people were gathered, it was very good. I praise God by seeing the power of the Holy Spirit moving.

THE MAIN CHALLENGES

1. WATER PROBLEM: Always we started our meetings very late because people go to fetch water far away.

2. HUNGER PROBLEM: Due to dry spell, staying for two days without food.

3. ORHPANS: Selected to secondary schools but no funds, it’s a big concern. Seven orphans have passed their examinations.

4. BIBLES: Major concern in all places visited.

5. TRANSPORT ISSUE FOR TRAVELING: I do walk the distance of 20 km if there is no funds for fuel.

CHAONANJIWA AREA (14 – 16 SEPTEMBER 2011)

I have managed to visit 15 villages and many souls were saved and God blessed His people. 1600 people were saved. 200 people were baptized in water. I have established Sunday School programmes in this area of Chaonanjiwa. We have 10 Sunday School teachers.

I visited one of the villages in the area. We were all in a building, as we were singing and praising God, the roof of the building fell down, but praise be to God as no one was injured.

Some of the challenges are as follows:

1. 7 villages using one borehole

2. 10 people using 1 bible

3. 17 orphans having no clothes

Lazo village has got good water now, the borehole is working.

For me to have a good feeding centre, I must have a Farming Cropping Project.

1. Time of Summer Cropping: 8 Hecters of land (Planting cotton for sale, finger millet, Sorghums). If funds are available the project can start now.

2. Time of Winter cropping: From July next year.

May God bless you.

Love

Robert Kathewera
