We love children at Calvary Chapel Southbury! Caring for our children and youth is just as important to us as caring for adults. As a result, we offer full Children’s Ministry programs at all of our services. We believe that this ministry is much more than “babysitting.” In fact, we offer classes geared for each age group so that our children can know and follow Jesus at whatever stage in life they are at. Infants
For mothers of newborns through 6 months, there is a private room with a tinted viewing window off of the main sanctuary. This room includes rocking chairs, infant toys, a changing table, and volume-controlled sound connected to the service so that mothers of infants can still listen to the message.
Crawlers and Toddlers
Everyone loves babies but it’s easier for mom and dad to participate in the service if baby is being loved and cared for by someone else. That’s why we offer a fully equipped nursery for toddlers. We invite you to drop your little one off in the nursery before worship and know that, while you are being ministered to, they are being loved by our capable teachers.
2-3 year olds
Adjacent to the toddlers room is a room for 2-3 year olds. This class introduces the children to prayer and uses devotional stories and crafts to begin teaching our kids what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. There is also plenty of play time and a snack provided.
Our Crawlers and Walkers rooms are staffed starting ten minutes before service. All other classes meet after worship ends.
Kindergarten – 3rd grade
In our Pre-kindergarten and 1st – 3rd Grade classes our teachers (many of them education professionals) bring all their passion and love along with them. We use proven curriculum to teach our children about the awesome love that God has for them in Jesus Christ. Your kids will love spending time with their peers, playing games and learning how to know God and walk in the blessings He has for all His children.
4th – 8th grade
As our children get older, they become more relational and the challenges of persevering in faith become more difficult. We tailor our programs for 4th-8th graders in order to provide a place where young people can learn about Jesus, ask tough questions and get to know their leaders better.
During our 9AM service, we have one well-supervised co-ed 4th-8th grade class. At our 11 AM service, we have a boys’ and a girls’ class.
